Peer Review Process
BJFN uses a peer review process to ensure the quality and validity of submitted manuscripts. Peer review involves independent experts in the field evaluating the manuscript before publication.
- Manuscript Submission: Authors submit their manuscripts to BJFN through the online submission system, following the journal's guidelines and formatting requirements.
- Initial Editorial Evaluation: Upon receiving a manuscript, the editor conducts an initial evaluation to assess its suitability for publication in BJFN. Factors considered include relevance to the journal's scope, originality, and adherence to ethical standards.
- Assignment of Reviewers: If the manuscript passes the initial evaluation, the editor assigns reviewers who are experts in the field. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise and lack of conflicts of interest.
- Double-Blind Review: BJFN uses a double-blind review process, where the identities of both the authors and reviewers are kept anonymous. This ensures impartiality and prevents bias in the review process.
- Peer Review Evaluation: Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on various criteria, including originality, significance, methodology, results, and conclusions. They provide constructive feedback and recommend whether the manuscript should be accepted, revised, or rejected.
- Editorial Decision: The editor decides the manuscript based on the reviewers' feedback. This decision is communicated to the authors along with the reviewers' comments.
- Author Revisions: If the manuscript requires revisions, the authors can revise their manuscript based on the reviewers' comments and the editor's feedback.
- Re-review (if necessary): After the authors have revised their manuscript, it may be sent back to the reviewers for re-review to ensure that the revisions adequately address the reviewers' concerns.
- Final Editorial Decision: Once the revisions are completed and the reviewers are satisfied, the editor makes a final decision regarding the manuscript. This decision is communicated to the authors along with any final comments or suggestions.
- Publication: Accepted manuscripts are published in BJFN according to the journal's publication schedule. Authors are notified of the publication date and receive a copy of their published manuscript.
- Anonymity Preserved: Throughout the review process, the anonymity of both the authors and reviewers is preserved to ensure a fair and unbiased evaluation of the manuscript.
- Author Notification: Authors are notified of the editorial decision regarding their manuscript and are provided with feedback from the reviewers and editor.
- Ethical Considerations: BJFN adheres to strict ethical standards in publishing. This includes ensuring the confidentiality of the review process, addressing conflicts of interest, and maintaining the integrity of the publication process.
